Exodus 24

Devotional:
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. Again they all responded, “We will do everything the Lord has commanded. We will obey.” Then Moses took the blood from the basins and splattered it over the people, declaring, “Look, this blood confirms the covenant the Lord has made with you in giving you these instructions.” (Exodus 24:7-8).

We are again reminded that our God is a God of covenant as He confirms this covenant to the Israelites. Be thankful today that what God promises to us, He is faithful to deliver! Our God keeps His covenants!

Note: Verse 13 is the first time Joshua is referred to as Moses’s assistant. This role will take on a larger meaning later on, which we will see as we continue our journey through the Bible.
Pray it:
Father, thank you for keeping all your promises and for entering into a covenant with your people. I thank you especially for the new covenant established in and through Jesus that offers forgiveness for when I stumble and the hope of transformation through your Spirit. May your faithfulness to me lead me to being more faithful to you. Amen.
