Proverbs 26
Devotional:
As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness. (Proverbs 26:11).
This chapter continues in the nature of the fool and the lazy man. A fool will normally not change his ways unless he has some sort of catastrophic event that causes the change. And just as the dog is typically fascinated with his own vomit (return to it, sniff it, lick it, and even eat it), so the fool is drawn to his own sin, even to return to it and do it again. Don’t be a fool and fall back into patterns of sin, but rather be the wise one described in Proverbs who walks in the way of the Lord.

Pray it:
God, help me to walk wisely and learn from my faults. Keep me from repeating stupid acts or blatant sins. I don’t want to live in the whirlwind of trying to escape sin, so please keep your Word on my mind and guide my steps today and every day. Amen.
