Leviticus 25
Devotional:
“If one of your fellow Israelites falls into poverty and cannot support himself, support him as you would a foreigner or a temporary resident and allow him to live with you. (Leviticus 25:35)
God continually reminds us in Scripture that we are called to support the poor and needy. As followers of Jesus, it is our privilege and responsibility to speak up for the poor and needy. How can you begin taking a step to serve those in need? Is there a family in your neighborhood who would be blessed by your generosity and friendship? Maybe you can bring them some groceries, a meal or provide a gift card? Maybe you feel like you are the person or family who is poor and needy. Would you be brave enough to ask for help from a brother or sister to uplift, encourage and support you? The Lord cares for the poor and needy, and He desires our hearts to have the same compassion.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for being a God who cares for those in need and who are often forgotten by others. I praise you for helping me in my need, and I ask for your strength to be like you in caring for those around me in this world. Amen.
