Exodus 2

Devotional:
God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act. (Exodus 2:24-25).

There are three sections in the chapter for today. Verses 1-10 are about the amazing way God keeps Moses alive when he is born. Verses 11-22 tell us how even Moses has shortcomings by recounting how he kills a man and is then forced to flee when Pharoah wants to kill him. When Moses was in Midian, he was blessed with a wife and a son. Verses 23-24 remind us that God is faithful to His promises when He remembers His people as they cry out during their suffering from slavery.

Which part did you need to read today? How amazing God is, how God can still use sinners, or that God won’t forget you in your suffering?
Pray it:
Father, thank you that you never forget your people and that you use people in spite of their sin and shortcomings. Help me both to remember the forgiveness of sins you offer through Christ and also that I can serve and follow you in spite of my past failures. Thank you for remembering me….help me to remember you! Amen.
