Proverbs 4
Devotional:
Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. (Proverbs 4:26-27).
This chapter is a father’s plea to his children to listen to the wisdom of the father. If only we would consider the destination of our current path, it could lead to wiser living. The problem is, we tend to toss this concept to the side because of the many attractions of this life. When we carefully ponder where we are headed and where we could end up, we will usually see this caution about not swerving to the right or to the left and see how important it is to turn ourselves away from the wrong, evil direction, and stay on the right path. Today is a good day to examine if you are swerving or on the path.

Pray it:
Father, you have made it clear that the only path to a satisfied life is through trusting in Jesus, but it’s easy to get persuaded to follow cultural trends. Keep me aligned with your path, correct me if I get sidetracked, and help me realize your way is best. Amen.
