Exodus 35

Devotional:
So the people of Israel—every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the Lord had given them through Moses—brought their gifts and gave them freely to the Lord. (Exodus 35:29).

Willingness to give. The people of Israel do not contribute to the elements of the tabernacle out of duty – they do so out of a willingness of their hearts. They give financially, they give the materials needed, and they give of their time and ability to make the elements. As you read this chapter, how would you gauge your willingness to give? Are you giving back in ways you’ve been gifted and are you doing so joyfully? May we be like these Israelites as they build the tabernacle — willingly giving back to God what He has blessed us with.
Pray it:
Spirit, may you be at work in my heart is such a way that I do not obey or give out of obligation but rather out of a heartfelt desire to know you more and make you known in your world. Help me see that everything I have has come from you and that everything in this world is meant to be used to honor and glory you, God. Amen.
