Numbers 7
Devotional:
On the day Moses set up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and set it apart as holy. He also anointed and set apart all its furnishings and the altar with its utensils. Then the leaders of Israel—the tribal leaders who had registered the troops—came and brought their offerings. Together they brought six large wagons and twelve oxen. There was a wagon for every two leaders and an ox for each leader. They presented these to the Lord in front of the Tabernacle. (Numbers 7:1-3).
This chapter looks back at Exodus 40:2 when the tabernacle was completed, and here we see that over 12 days, each tribe brought an identical gift of dedication. While we might grow tired of reading through the same list (a silver plate, a silver basin, fine flour mixed with oil, a golden dish full of incense, a bull, a male lamb, a male goat, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs), we see that God is delighted in the individual offerings of each of the tribes. One of the offerings was a sin offering, which is also a reminder that even when celebrating God’s work, we remember our sin that needs to be dealt with — and we have Jesus as our sin offering. May we remember that God delights in each of us individually and has sent Jesus for us.

Pray it:
Father, I thank you for the way you delight in each of us and in each thing that we do for you. Help me to live my life as an offering to you, dedicating all that I am and all that I have to you. Amen.
