Numbers 10

Devotional:
As they moved on each day, the cloud of the Lord hovered over them. And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!” (Numbers 10:34-36)

The Isarelites were preparing to go into the land God had promised them (see vs. 29), and they would be led by God through the cloud during the day and fire by night over the tabernacle (see Numbers 9:15-23). Sometimes the cloud would be there for a few days, and other times only for one day (see 9:20-22). Therefore, they were literally following the Lord as they moved into the Promised Land. What kind of journey are you on in your life? Are you seeking to be led by God wherever He might be taking you? Maybe you are just setting out into the unknown or maybe you are settling down where God wants you to be. Either way, are you praising God for the journey you are on and the way He guides and protects you?

Pray it:
Father, I ask that you would lead me just as you led the Israelites. Help me to stay where you want me to stay and move when you want me to move, keeping in step with your will and submitting to your purposes rather than my own plans. Amen.
