Leviticus 1
Devotional:
“If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the herd, it must be a male with no defects. Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle so you may be accepted by the Lord. (Leviticus 1:3)
The people of Israel were called to make sacrifices to atone for their sins. God required animals without any blemishes as a resemblance of cleanliness and received these offerings as a way to cover the sins of His people, providing them the opportunity to be right with Him. Jesus, the only sinless person without blemish, is the fulfillment of burnt offerings – He was the final offering provided by God to atone for our sins once and for all. Every sacrifice performed by Israel pointed toward Jesus as the final and everlasting “burnt offering.” Enjoy reflecting on how God’s plan unfolded through Jesus Christ as fulfillment of the rules and regulations throughout Leviticus!

Pray it:
Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to be the final and perfect sacrifice for me as the spotless lamb of God. Help me to remember His sacrifice for me, that I might live in the forgiveness of sins it offers and the new life to which it calls me to. Amen.
