Leviticus 22

Devotional:
“You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord. Do not bring shame on my holy name, for I will display my holiness among the people of Israel. I am the Lord who makes you holy. It was I who rescued you from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 22:31-33)

We need to remember that God’s call to the people of Israel to be holy is a response to His grace, not the way to earn His grace. That is, He did not tell the people of Israel to be holy so that He would rescue them from Egypt. Rather, He rescued them and then told them to be holy. In the same way, let us remember what God has done for us in Christ and respond to it by walking in holiness. This is not in order to earn His favor but to reflect the God who has lavished His grace on us in Christ.
Pray it:
Father, thank you for saving me in Christ not when I was holy but when I was unholy. Help me to walk in holiness as a joyful and thankful response to your amazing work in my life.
