Romans 13
Devotional:
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. (Romans 13:8)
Can you imagine a world where we lived like this? Where love was the only debt we owed? Instead of sitting down to make a mortgage or car payment, we would try to find new ways to pay our neighbor back the debt that was covered in Christ. It is easy to try to earn God’s favor by following the rules, but to fulfill the law, we need to stop trying to earn something and start making payments of love. Jesus, you did not owe us anything, and yet you paid the price to set us free. Help us to live each day in the freedom of owing nothing while moving us to pour out ourselves for others. Amen.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for freeing me of the debt that I owe you because of my sin. May I use the freedom I have in Christ to love others, not to pay you back but rather to pay it forward and show your gospel to this world. Amen.
