Numbers 33

Devotional:
This is the route the Israelites followed as they marched out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. At the Lord’s direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress. These are the stages of their march, identified by the different places where they stopped along the way. (Numbers 33:1-2).

This chapter recounts the journey that the Israelites have been on. The path they took crisscrossed the wilderness, back and forth, to and fro, yet the Lord was bringing them to the destination He desired.  Sometimes our journey as we follow God is not as direct or short as we would like it to be. Yet, He is still bringing us to the destination He has in mind. It is good to look back on your life and see God’s guiding hand along the way. Looking back to remember God’s faithfulness strengthens our faith and gives us the confidence to move forward, knowing that He will continue to guide and protect us along the way. Look back today. Trace the path of your life and thank God for leading you in ways that you would have never thought, yet you can now see that it worked out for good.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for guiding me, even when the paths are not smooth or straight. Help me to trust your leading even when I don’t understand it or I would prefer a different path. Amen.
