Numbers 2

Devotional:
“When the Israelites set up camp, each tribe will be assigned its own area. The tribal divisions will camp beneath their family banners on all four sides of the Tabernacle, but at some distance from it. (Numbers 2:2).

Chapter 1 of Numbers is a census, and chapter 2 is essentially a map, as God gives the layout of where the different tribes of Israel would camp and the order in which they would march. In verse 2, we see that each of the tribes was positioned like spokes of a wheel around the Tent of Meeting, the dwelling place of God. Each tribe was positioned facing God. God was, literally, the heart of the nation. How about you? Are you taking care to keep Him at the center of your life? Take some time today to confess to God the ways you may have pushed Him off to the side in your life. Ask His help in keeping the Lord the center and focus of your life wherever you might go today and in the coming days, weeks, months, and years.
Pray it:
Father, I confess that I often put other things at the center of my life and heart, the place where only you belong; thank you for forgiving me through Jesus’s death when I do so. Empower me through your Holy Spirit to keep you front and center in my life.
