Numbers 6
Devotional:
‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’ (Numbers 6:24-26).
These words that God gives to the priests to bless His people are often used as the closing blessing in church services. Because it is so familiar, we may not always stop and ponder these words. This blessing invokes the name of God (Yahweh) three times, and also thrice lists the blessings He wants to give to us. These words remind us that the God who made the world, brought His people out of Egypt, and now has sent Jesus for us, wants to bless you, give you grace, and give you peace; He looks upon you in joy. How do you react when you hear this blessing? Let these words wash over you like the blessings that God wants to lavish upon you.

Pray it:
Lord, I do ask that you bless me and keep me, that you turn your face to shine upon me and give me grace and peace — all because of your grace and for your glory. Amen.
