Genesis 48
Devotional:
“May the God before whom my grandfather Abraham and my father, Isaac, walked—the God who has been my shepherd all my life, to this very day, the Angel who has redeemed me from all harm—may he bless these boys. (Genesis 48:15 -16a NLT)
Nearing the end of his life, Jacob reflects on his relationship with God. He has a life filled with testimonies to God’s goodness and wants his offspring to know what he knows. He wants them to know how faithful, shepherding and delivering his God is and how that same God of his father can be their God, too. He blesses his grandchildren, acknowledging God’s faithfulness and promises to him and the next generation to follow. How can we share our blessing with the generations to follow? Do you confess the importance of God in your life?

Pray it:
Father, help me to see the ways that you have been faithful in my life and to share these stories with others, especially the emerging generation. May those young people around me hear and know of your faithfulness and your great promises in Christ. Amen.
