Luke 4

Devotional:
Early the next morning Jesus went out to an isolated place. The crowds searched everywhere for him, and when they finally found him, they begged him not to leave them. But he replied, “I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.” (Luke 4:42-43)

When people heard about Jesus, they’d go anywhere to find him, but they wanted to keep him to themselves. Jesus didn’t come for just one person, though, he came for everyone. He had to keep moving, finding more people to share the good news with. Now that same spirit that empowered Jesus lives in us. Are we selfish with the gospel? Do we want to keep Jesus all to ourselves, or are we always finding someone new to share the hope of Jesus with? It’s not always easy. It takes time and energy and work, but it’s our great calling here on earth. Share the good news of Jesus with someone you know today!
Pray it:
Father, I thank you for the people in my life that did not keep the good news of Jesus to themselves but shared it with me. Help me to be that person for others, not keeping quiet about the good news but sharing it with those around me. Amen.

Who is someone you can share a verse or thought from this passage with?
