Luke 2
Devotional:
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” (Luke 2:14)
This chapter is filled with some of the most recognizable and beloved verses in all of Scripture. It is the Christmas story that is read and recited year after year to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Does reading this story incite praise or nostalgia in you? The birth of Jesus is an amazing story, but it is more than a story – it is the opening scene in the reality of our salvation. The angels filled the night with light and a song of glory. We’re called to do the same.

Pray it:
Father, protect me from the danger of familiarity with the Christmas story causing me to forget the wonder that it is and instead lead me into deeper and more heart-felt praise as I ponder it anew this day. Amen.
